Varicose Veins: Treat It Right Away

    JamesBy JamesJanuary 16, 2022No Comments4 Mins Read

Most of the time, when patients come to our laser vein treatment facility, they aren’t only concerned about the sight of varicose veins. In most instances varicose veins are also affecting their overall quality of life. Already covered are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding varicose veins laser treatment, but now it’s time to look at what it’s like to be a patient throughout the treatment process.

What Are Varicose Veins and How Do They Affect You?

Let’s start with a review of the fundamentals of varicose veins. Everyone is familiar with their appearance, but few know what they are or why they occur.

Inflammation of the valves inside veins causes the development of varicose veins (also known as spider veins). Because of this, blood can pool in the veins, causing them to enlarge. Varicose veins are deeper in the legs than spider veins, which are found closer to the skin’s surface. Spider veins are more common in women than men. (Although varicose veins may develop everywhere on the body, they are most often seen in the legs and feet. They have a gnarled, twisted, and rope-like appearance, and they are often blue or purple in hue, making them difficult to conceal in the environment.

While spider veins are typically not associated with any physical symptoms, varicose veins are more than simply an unsightly cosmetic problem; they may also be painful and uncomfortable.

It is possible to be at increased risk of developing varicose veins if you suffer from certain disorders or situations. Vein disease is more common in pregnant women or those who have constipation. Other risk factors include being overweight or obese, having a sedentary lifestyle, and having a genetic predisposition. Age also plays a role; as people age, their veins grow more prone to become varicose.

What Is Laser Vein Treatment and How Does It Work?

Although you have little influence over whether or not you develop varicose veins, you may readily cure them if they do form in the first place. Varicose veins laser treatment is a non-invasive, effective, and rapid procedure. Many of our customers leave our New Jersey vein treatment clinic asking why they didn’t have it done sooner, and we understand why!

We all know that varicose veins arise when a vein’s ability to function correctly is compromised. We will never be able to restore full function to a damaged vein that is no longer functioning; thus, the ideal answer is to seal it shut so that blood does not accumulate in it. This is accomplished by putting a short laser fibre into a vein and delivering a pulse of energy to it, thereby cutting off its blood supply. It is usual for your circulatory system to redirect blood flow to other, healthy veins to save energy.

Before Starting Treatment for Varicose Veins

Laser vein therapy customers with various ailments and issues, which we attentively listen to and address. The sight of their legs makes them feel self-conscious; they are ashamed to wear swimsuits to the beach, and they wear long trousers even on the hottest summer days because they don’t want to expose their veins by wearing shorts or a skirt that reveals them.

Other times, their major worry is their discomfort or agony. It is common for people to experience leg pain and fatigue after walking their dogs around the block. They invent reasons to avoid physical exercise or being on their feet for an extended period. Because they cannot exercise as often as they used to, their general health suffers. Pain may lead people to feel separated from their friends and loved ones if the pain is severe enough that they are unable to engage in the same activities.

The progression of varicose veins, if left untreated, may cause them to become even more uncomfortable, and the hazards associated with them can grow more severe. Blood clots, deep vein thrombosis, ankle sores, skin ulcers, and bleeding are all possible complications of untreated varicose veins if left untreated. Besides varicose veins, inflammation and hyperpigmentation in the vicinity of the veins are prevalent.
