Mount Rainier is a mountain in the Cascade Range of Washington state. Although it is not the tallest mountain in the range, it is the most famous for its size and prominence. It is one of five active stratovolcanoes on the North American continent and ranks as the 15th highest peak in the contiguous United States, with an elevation of 14,417 feet (4,394 m). Mount Rainier is located near Tacoma. The mountain can be seen from as far away as Lakewood and Olympia. Rainier is best preparation for Manaslu, Everest or just Everest base camp trek , K2, Ama Dablam, Aconcagua.
Climbing Routes are as follows:
Nisqually Glacier Route – easier difficulty (5.4 out of 10)
The Nisqually Glacier Route is the most popular route on Mount Rainier. It’s also the only route that can be climbed year-round. The approach to this route is fairly simple and straightforward, taking about two hours to reach Camp Muir (10,080 ft). From Camp Muir, climbers ascend via the Ingraham Direct or Disappointment Cleaver routes; both are considered moderate climbs with pitches varying from 5.4 out of 10.
Snoqualmie Pass Route – moderate Difficult (5.8+ out of 10)
This is the most popular route on Mount Rainier, and it’s also one of the easiest. It starts at Paradise and climbs via Disappointment Cleaver to Camp Schurman, where you can see views of both sides of the mountain. The route then follows Emmons Glacier to its summit.
Grizzly Peak Route – Difficult (6+ out of 10)
This route is also popular for climbers who want to summit Mount Rainier, but it’s steeper and more exposed than the other routes. It starts at Camp Schurman and follows Disappointment Cleaver to its summit. -This route starts at Camp Schurman and climbs to the summit of Mount Rainier via Ingraham Glacier. It’s considered one of the hardest routes on the mountain because it requires technical climbing skills and a high level of fitness. -The Grizzly Peak Route is a challenging climb but one that’s not quite as difficult as the Emmons Glacier route. It starts at Camp Schurman and follows the Cleaver to Camp Hazard, which is just below 13,000 feet. From there, it climbs up to Grizzly Peak before traversing across to the summit of Mount Rainier.
