Dead Space is the volume of air we inhale that does not participate in gas exchange. It stays in conducting airways and reaches the poorly perfused alveoli. This air is not oxygenated and is therefore not useful for gas exchange. This volume of air is critical for lung function. There are two types of dead spaces: those in the conduction system and those in the poorly perfused alveoli. While the latter are more dangerous than the former, both are important for breathing.
Set Time
The Dead Space game is set in the year 2508. Humans had reached a critical mass in the Earth’s environment due to its unsustainable use of resources. The surviving human race had realized they had to look for resources on other planets. They started with a research team at Concordance Extraction Corporation and engineered a ship called the USG Ishimura to go exploring and collect resources. The USG Ishimura was the first of several ships that were destined to travel to other planets.
Base of Game
The Dead Space remake will feature new characters, new environments, and improved graphics. The game is based on the Frostbite Engine, and will feature modernized assets. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series XS, and PC. This sequel takes place three years before the events of the first Dead Space. The game is currently in development. The release date has yet to be determined. There are no details on how much the remake will cost.
