You probably need to do more than just apply sunscreen – you also need to take extra precautions to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Even if you live in a climate that doesn’t produce UV rays, you must still protect your skin. Using sunscreen is essential no matter the season, but you must apply it 20 to 30 minutes before going out in the sun.
Use a good sunscreen every single day. It’s a must during summers as the sun’s rays can be extremely harmful, making your skin look dull and wrinkly. Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Apply sunscreen every couple of hours if you spend more than an hour outdoors. Avoid applying heavy makeup or sunscreen to your face as this can cause your skin to feel heavy and patchy. Applying face powder with a SPF of 15 or more is also a great idea.
Use a good, natural moisturizer. Plain curd and cucumber juice are excellent natural moisturizers that will keep your skin hydrated. Sweat will open pores and clogged pores. Make sure to apply lotion after a shower to avoid excessive oil build-up. Apply it in the morning, after cleansing your face, to prevent blemishes. You can also use facial sprays with minerals and vitamin E.
