    JamesBy JamesMarch 31, 2022No Comments3 Mins Read

The cases of AIDS and HIV continue to pose serious health issues in Africa. The people belonging to the low and middle-income groups in the sub-Saharan region have been the worst victims in recent times.

AIDS research in Africa has assumed primary importance now. Due to the rise in HIV cases in the recent past, various research studies are on to understand the growing malignancies associated with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Sub-Saharan Africa continues to remain the epicenter of the health crisis in Africa. Several diseases here often break out in the form of an epidemic. Currently, diseases like Cancer and Aids are rising among the lower and middle-income groups of people in the region.

The youth belonging to the lower and middle-income groups are getting infected with HIV, AIDS, and Cancer. It is essential to protect them by giving them timely medical care and assistance.

The spread of Oncogenic viruses like Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), Kaposi Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus (KSHV), Hepatitis B virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) warrants more research studies to understand the emerging trends of diseases in Africa and how they are affecting the youth.

    Diseases in Africa

The countries falling in the sub-Saharan region lack a modern health system, with scant availability of scientific medical methods to diagnose and treat various diseases.

AIDS and the detection of its malignancies with a scientific approach is a major problem in East Africa. It is imperative to provide necessary medical equipment, gadgets, and testing kits to healthcare professionals working in Africa.

It will gradually improve the quality of healthcare facilities in the region while helping people timely screen for their diseases.

For example, Kaposi sarcoma is one of the most common cancers found in men in Africa. Several attempts have been made to detect these serious health issues. But overall, the progress remains a low-key affair.

The Health Problems in Africa: A Perspective

The lower and middle-income groups of people in the sub-Saharan region are the worst victims of these life-threatening maladies. The focus is on conducting relevant research studies and providing medical treatments to people based on scientific findings and health reports.

Though several need-based efforts have been launched over the years, the problem could not be addressed in its right perspective. It requires collaborations, funding and availability of researchers and research laboratories with modern medical equipment.

The Associated Malignancy Research Centers must be opened in larger numbers in the sub-Saharan region to combat the malady effectively.

    In Conclusion

To address this issue, lower and middle-income group people must be given maximum stress to bring them out of the pit of this AIDS, HIV, and cancer related to them.

Here, the initiatives to launch research centers in the sub-Saharan region must be accorded top priority.

Since these are killer diseases taking a huge annual toll on human lives, launching action on a war footing too becomes imperative. More research studies and scientific experiments are necessary to make Africa disease-free.
